If you've ever wanted to know what Contracting Officers/Professionals think, check out this video. Between this interview and the podcast episode, "How to Secure Government Contracts for Your Business" in our "Downloadables" section, I promise it'll get you excited about government contracting. My philosophy is to breakdown this process into bite size pieces that can be digested (see our "Classes" section for more info. on specific topics). Try not to get overwhelmed by the amount of information we discuss in this video because you're always welcome to post questions on our Facebook page, and I'll answer them.
Check out my interview with LaTosha on the Hustle In Faith podcast. As we discuss important components of a winning contract, challenges involved in GovCon, and more, hear it from a different perspective...an insider's. The insight provided considers actions prior to posting solicitations on SAM (such as the agency's acquisition planning and market research). Join us as we continue to journey through the world of government contracting.
Now, before you get into it, think prime contractor instead of middleman (often this term "middleman" gets a bad rep). Jason White gives some valuable insight on how to serve as a prime. Keep in mind, there are limitations on subcontracting, so as the prime contractor, no more than 50% of the contract award can be paid to the subcontractor. This means you'll have to perform some work under the contract, but Jason breaks it down in the video.
Here's some meat for those that are ready. I get questions on how to determine pricing for proposals often, and in this video Dr. Kizzy Parks provides valuable information. This video is less than 20 minutes and full of gems. Check it out, and if you have any questions, post them to our Facebook page.
